Amenities

The Royal Hawaiian offers a private beach area for guests, one of the few hotels in Waikiki with this exclusive access. Two outdoor pools include the Malulani Pool and the Helumoa Playground, the latter featuring a water slide. The full-service spa provides body treatments, facial treatments, and a steam room, plus a fitness centre and yoga classes.

Rooms

Each room is equipped with an iPod docking station and a refrigerator with 2 bottles of water. Decorated in tropical colors and themes, rooms offer garden or ocean views from private balconies. The historic wing rooms feature high ceilings and solid wood carved doors, while Mailani Tower rooms overlook Waikiki Beach and Diamond Head.

Dining

The Azure Restaurant serves the freshest local seafood caught daily, set right on the edge of Waikiki Beach. The Mai Tai Bar offers tropical cocktails, nightly entertainment, and views of Diamond Head from its beachfront location. The on-site Royal Hawaiian Bakery specializes in local pastries, including the signature pink coconut snowball and the Royal Hawaiian Cronut.

Activities & Entertainment

The hotel hosts Honolulu's only oceanfront luau, Aha Aina, featuring Hawaiian music, hula, and a buffet dinner directly on the beach. Daily cultural activities include hula dance classes, lei making classes, and a history tour of the property. Guests can rent surfboards and bodyboards on-site, and children under 5 eat for free off the kids menu at Surf Lanai with one paying adult.

Location & Family

The resort is a 5-minute walk from the International Market Place and one mile from the Honolulu Zoo. Families have access to a children's center, babysitting/child services, and a kids' pool with a shallow end. The hotel offers two pools, a hot tub, and a private beach area with sun loungers and umbrellas for guest use.
